Abstract. The article examines the development of communicative competence of future mathematics teachers as one of the key terms for effective professional training and successful pedagogical activity. The relevance of the topic is determined by contemporary requirements for educators, involving not only deep subject knowledge and mastery of teaching methodology but also a high level of communication skills necessary for interaction with students, colleagues, and parents within the educational environment of the 21st century. The paper analyzes the structure of communicative competence, which includes cognitive, axiological, operational-activity, and reflective components. It describes the functions of communicative competence and the mechanisms of its formation during the training process in a pedagogical university. Special attention is given to the relationship between the level of communicative competence and the ability of future teachers to engage in constructive group interaction. The article presents theoretical approaches and pedagogical conditions that contribute to this competence development, including the use of interactive and dialogical forms of learning, simulation of professional situations, and group-based learning activities. Emphasis is placed on the importance of developing students' readiness for collaboration, the ability to listen and understand others, to build effective communication, and to work as a team member, all of which help create a positive pedagogical climate and ensure successful resolution of professional tasks
