Abstract. The article is devoted to the current problem of personal self-determination of future educational psychologists. The purpose of the work is to analyze the theoretical foundations, features and factors of this process in the context of the professional development of specialists in this profile. The first part of the article reveals the notion and the structure of personal self-determination, examines its basic concepts and approaches to do the research of the topic, and describes the stages and patterns of this process. The second part is devoted to analysis of the specifics on a teacher-psychologist activity, a review of the necessary personal qualities (empathy, tolerance, communication skills, etc.) and value orientations for successful implementation in this profession. The third part discusses the influence of various factors the personal self-determination of future educational psychologists: the role of university education, sociocultural conditions, individual characteristics, as well as external and internal barriers to this process. The authors emphasize the importance of creating conditions at the university for personal growth and reflection, the importance of practice-oriented training and the development of critical thinking of students. In conclusion, the key ideas of the article are summarized and prospects for further research on this problem are outlined. It is emphasized that successful personal self-determination is the key one to professional effectiveness and psychological well-being of future educational psychologists. The article will be useful for students of psychological and pedagogical specialties, aspiring educational psychologists, university teachers, as well as for a wide range of readers interested in issues of professional and personal development.
