Abstract. The article discusses the practical aspects of project-oriented teaching in the organization of students’ teamwork at a pedagogical university. There were viewed various approaches considering the concept of project-oriented teaching and some scientific theories related to project-based teaching within  students’ teamwork. Project-oriented teaching in the organization of students’ teamwork is the basis for team development and a prerequisite for a successful achievement of the goal within the educational project. Using the example of students’ teamwork in the project-oriented learning, there have been compiled and analyzed some structural schemes revealing the influence of this training on the formation of students’ professional and soft skills, confirming the effectiveness of the scientific researches under the survey. The goal is to develop a model of project-oriented teaching in the organization of students’ teamwork. This model serves to design the process of solving problems that require team interaction, cooperation and co-creation. The effectiveness of solving these problems depends on the coordinated positions in the interaction of students with each other and with the teacher. The methodological base of the research includes a literature review, construction of structural diagrams, analysis, synthesis, comparison and generalization, building a synthesized model that proves the high efficiency and effectiveness of teamwork in project-oriented teaching.
