Abstract. The current research is important due to the global trend towards the departure from the outdated unipolar system of the world order and the establishment of a new multipolar model in which Russia plays an important role. At the same time, unfriendly states actively attack traditional Russian spiritual, moral, cultural and historical values, trying to carry out their «westernization», to plant ideals and values whish are alien to Russian society. Under these changing conditions, the modern education system should focus on forming a specialist who is not only a professional being in great demand in the labor market, but who can also effectively perform social functions, who is a patriot of his Homeland, which is impossible without possessing a system of value orientations, the basis of which is traditional Russian values. Thus, the subject of this study is axiological situations. The purpose of it is to develop a set of axiological situations that ensure the formation of value orientations of the undergraduates, who are doing their bachelor’s degree, in modern conditions. The results obtained in the course of the study can be used in the educational process at the university to form undergraduates' orientations towards traditional Russian values. The obtained results have social significance, which consists in the fact that students’ value orientations contribute to the strengthening of their civic consciousness, the growth of their social activity, their involvement in solving urgent tasks at the local and state level, the preservation of Russian identity, historical memory and culture, serve as the basis of patriotism. The results of the study are characterized by novelty, which consists in the fact that the original set of axiological situations was developed, the structure of the axiological situation was determined, the algorithm for working with these situations was proposed, the stages of their implementation and methods used at each stage were identified and the functions performed by axiological situations in the educational process at the university were identified.
