Abstract. The article attempts to record changes in the production and distribution of news content, which are manifested against the background of the active development of a new mass communication channel - the Telegram messenger. The urgency of the problem solved by the author is determined by the ubiquity of instant messengers such as Telegram and the associated need to alter the established professional journalistic practices necessary to adapt to new conditions. The focus is on the transformation of the traditional news genre - an informational note. In order to identify signs of the process of transformation of the information note genre, the author analyzed about 120 publications of Telegram news channels, such as: “Before all. Well, almost”, “Caution, news”, “Varlamov News”, “Pool No. 3”, etc. It was revealed that the processes of genre transformation obey the logic of the messenger and at the same time indicate changes in the perception of media content. The results obtained may be of interest to the professionals, since they provide a key to understanding the technology of news creation in new conditions, which is important for media experts interested in mastering a new communication channel and attracting an additional audience.
