Abstract. Due to the fact that the problem of learning a foreign language remains the most important global problem of our time, much attention should be paid to the accumulation of knowledge and the ability to apply acquired knowledge in the communication process. Today the need for studying this discipline is growing: bachelors, masters and specialists who speak a foreign language are competitive and in demand in the labor market. Foreign language proficiency is not just a useful additional skill, but also a necessary competence for full functioning in modern society. The teacher must take into account the peculiarities of intercultural communication and knowledge of modern communication and pedagogical methods. It is necessary to use interdisciplinary connections to achieve the goal of teaching foreign languages and the formation of necessary competencies. Today, the problem is that a person can be motivated to learn a foreign language, but loses interest in learning a foreign language due to changing conditions in the world community. The author focuses on the problems of motivational development of students in order to upbringing the individual's readiness for adequate behavior in this article. The results of diagnostics of technical students are presented in order to identify internal and external motives. Based on the data obtained, recommendations are outlined to teachers for the formation of conditions for increasing motivation when learning a foreign language at a technical university. Special attention is paid to the most effective teaching methods during foreign language classes. The author gives examples of using tasks with changing conditions from the author's version of a student-centered training program.
