Abstract. The article continues a series of reviews of monographs and other major scientific works published by scholars humanitarians of Nosov MSTU in 2020 independently or together with teachers from other Russian and foreign universities. The anthropological paradigm is chosen as a research basis for the analysis of topics and problems of the publications. The author consistently analyzes the range of cognitive practices studied in scientific publications in 2020, and interprets them from the standpoint of humanitarian expertise, starting from a problem of the “anthropological turn” in scientific knowledge, which marked the ontological disorientation of a person at the turn of XX–XIX cc. There have been analyzed several scientific directions in the field of social and humanitarian sciences, in particular, historical sciences (archaeology, general history, history of education of Russia, gender history, history of the Great Patriotic War), philological sciences (linguistics, literary criticism), pedagogical sciences (theory and methods of teaching and upbringing, correctional pedagogy, methodology and technology of vocational education), psychological sciences (social and developmental psychology), cognitive science and cultural studies. The review revealed some attention of the researchers to the problem of preserving and maintaining the “human” feature in a person during different historical periods and at the present time. Each time, the focus of the analysis turns out to be some value orientations, on the basis of which social and research practices arise, and are being built, transformed and implemented. Values, as regulators of human activity, determine the goals of scientific research, which, first of all, should be subjected to humanitarian expertise.
