Abstract: The article deals with vocational training of university students for the conduct of the activities on the basis of a contextual approach. During the period of professional preparation for the leader's activity, the student must take an initiative, that is, an active position in the educational process. The teacher in this case serves as a helper or consultant. He not only organizes the educational process, but participates in it, entering into a dialogue with the trainees and enriching their whole personal experience. This approach to the vocational training of students of higher educational institutions to camp leaders’ activities is aimed at developing opportunities to learn new experiences based on the purposeful formation of creative and critical thinking, experience and tools of future professional activity and role simulation. This type of training stimulates an active response to the problem situations that arise before the counselor. One of the difficulties of introducing contextual training in vocational training of university students for camp activities is that we ensure the mastery of professional activity within the framework and by means of a qualitatively different activity - a learning activity that is characterized by its own peculiarities. The technology of contextual training of students’ vocational activities consists of three basic forms: educational activity with the leading role of lectures and seminars (the discipline "Organization of Vozhatskaya activity"); quasi-professional, embodied in games, special courses, special seminars (training practice "Instructive camp"); educational and professional (industrial practice in children's health centers). This professional preparation for the activity of the leaders puts the university students in an active position, the subject turns from a purely academic to a practically professional one.
