Abstract. The article is devoted to the search of effective approaches aimed at implementing the project approach in engineering education in Russia and Tajikistan.
The article deals with the issues of using modern educational technologies implemented in the structure of the project approach in European universities. The analysis of key concepts included in the structure of the project approach is presented: project, project training, design technologies; algorithm of the project approach implementation in the system of modern education in general and engineering educational practices in particular .The article also substantiates the relevance of the project-oriented technology choice in engineering education in Russia and Tajikistan in the context of the main educational paths of universities in the represented countries, as well as an element of the comparative typology of the educational systems of Russia and Tajikistan, necessitating a project approach usage in engineering education.
The article presents an analysis of the new concept –"economic patriotism of graduates, which is understood as an integrative quality of a person with faith in the better economic future of his country and the desire to work for the benefit of his native land.
In addition, the article considers the main goals of engineering education:
– developing the skills of engineering activities in the Russian Federation;
– protecting the society from the negative consequences of market relationships in the field of intellectual property;
– ensuring a favorable living environment for people and society due to the efficiency, safety, reliability and comfort of the results of engineering activities;
– creating a base for applying a complex of legal, economic, organizational and other measures of state regulation of industrial, scientific, technical and educational activities aimed at strengthening and developing the country's engineering potential;
– providing a balanced and stable development of industry, production of competitive products (approved by the Provisional Commission of the Council of the Federation on the development of the legislation of the Russian Federation on engineering activities).
