Abstract
The first volume of the «Big phraseological dictionary of the Old Church Slavonic language» was published in 2019 under the editorship of professor S.G. Shulezhkova. Now there is the review of Volume 1. The dictionary was prepared by the team of authors of the Lexical Research Laboratory of Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University. It is the unique work which gives the description to complex (multy-word) linguistic units of the ancient Slavonic texts. The materials of the first volume, the conception and the source base of the analyzed dictionary correlate with other three historical dictionaries of the Old Church Slavonic Language which were published in different years in different countries: Germany (1955), Russia (1994) and Bulgaria (1999-2009); and with the previous work of the authors published in 2011. The reviewed volume is the type of explanatory encyclopedical dictionary, that includes immense descriptive and illustrative material, which meets the principle of lexicographical completeness and comes to be the most valuable contribution to the world and native set of phraseological units belonging to the diachronic type.
Keywords: historical dictionaries, phraseological dictionary, manuscripts, the Middle Ages, Old Church Slavonic language, set phraseological units.
