Abstract.

The question of introducing innovative methods, means and forms into the learning process aimed at developing the student's personal qualities, which are necessary for activities in all spheres of public life is an urgent problem for today's education. From this point of view, the process of teaching the Russian language is focused primarily on mastering the language as a communication tool, on developing students’ communication skills. Therefore, it is legitimate to consider the development of speech skills as the fundamental task of the process of teaching the Russian language. This is why the case-study appears to be a potentially effective learning form. First of all, the settings of the indicated technology correspond to the principles of the communicative-activity approach, which is the conceptual basis for teaching the discipline "Russian language". Secondly, the case-study contributes to the speech development of students and the development of speech skills. This article provides a rationale for the expediency of the case-study use from the point of view of the concept of the communicative-activity approach. The analysis of the speech-making component of this technology is also presented. The direct algorithm of the case-study assumes a communicative aspect: the development of reading, listening, speaking and writing occurs at every stage of group and individual work. In addition, the didactic dominant of the Russian language lesson is the text, which, together with the questions and tasks for it, makes up the case package. A distinctive feature of the case is its focus on spiritual and social problems that are important for the student, which are reflected in artistic and publicistic texts. In this case, other author’s text is the initial educational material for analysis, discussion and becomes the starting point for creating students’ speech-creative work.
