Abstract
The author analyzes the regular congress of MAPRYAL (International Association of Teachers of the Russian Language and Literature) which was held in the spring of 2019. Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University delegated two representatives to take part in it. The congress proved the increased interest in the Russian language in the near and far abroad, especially in the countries of Asia, Africa and South America. Good progress was made in teaching methods, too. Reports of the outstanding specialists in Russian philology, their original methods and theoretical conceptions, master classes, the panel debate and the insight into Kazakhstan education system aroused a keen interest among the delegates. Nur-Sultan, the capital city of Kazakhstan, made a good impression on the Russian philology specialists. It is a modern city of Tomorrow with a careful attitude towards the history of the country.
