Abstract

This material is published in the framework of the annual reviews of the journal, covering the topics and issues of major scientific works, mainly monographs made by academics of G.I. Nosov MSTU in the field of humanities for 2019. For the analysis, predominantly collective monographs were selected, created by scientists of the university in collaboration with their Russian and foreign colleagues. The spectrum of those core values that are declared to the authors of scientific works as motives for their research activities, and those that meet the current needs of the professional community, the state and society as a whole, is revealed. The content and purpose of scientific work is considered in the framework of the pragmatic concept of the axiologization of scientific knowledge. The author of the review is interested in the question of the correlation of scientific knowledge with value, the formulation of the urgent tasks of humanities, cultural and ideological prerequisites for research in the field of social and human sciences (history, philology, pedagogy, psychology, sociology, etc.). The values that determine the choice of the object and subject of research, analysis methods and the field of practical application of the knowledge gained are highlighted. The value in humanities can be considered as an object of achievement, and as a social phenomenon, and as a system of knowledge, and as a vector of cognitive activity of a subject of science, as well as a phenomenon of culture as a whole. The author comes to the conclusion that scientific knowledge, distanced from any value judgments, can not be related to humanities, which is confirmed by the analysis of monographs made by academics of G.I. Nosov MSTU in 2019.
