Abstract. The relevance of training the competitive industrial personnel is explained by relatively high demands placed for future specialists, which particularly emphasizes the importance of training engineering teachers in some technical university setting. These teachers are capable of successfully combining specialized engineering knowledge with teaching skills and working effectively in various educational institutions and industrial enterprises. This process is complicated by rapid changes in technology and production, the resulting emergence of new professions, and the expansion of the competencies list required from engineers: deep technical and natural science knowledge, design, programming, communication skills, and critical thinking. This article examines the experience of training master's students in the 44.04.04 “Professional Training” (profile “Engineering Pedagogy”) using the Lysva Branch of Perm National Research Polytechnic University (LPPPU) as an example. The work provides theoretical justification for training the engineer teachers within the continuous education system at technical university. The statistics on the quality of admission to master's programs is presented basing on applicants' basic education and professional profile. The authors present relevant research topics done by master students, taking into account the needs of both educational institutions and industrial enterprises. The authors proposes the prospects on the personnel training considering the development of engineering pedagogy at universities within educational integration of technical and humanities components.

Acknowledgments. The authors express their sincere gratitude to Elena Nikolaevna Khamatnurova, PhD (Pedagogical Sciences), Associate Professor, and Head of Personnel Recruitment and Training at Electrotyazhmash-Privod LLC, Lysva, for her academic supervision, professional recommendations, and support throughout all stages of the study. Special thanks are extended to the faculty and academic supervisors who participated in the training of master's students at the Lysva Branch of Perm National Research Polytechnic University (LNRP).
