Abstract. The article by Ural authors analyzes the economic cooperation of the Ural pipe rollers of Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant and enterprises of the Byelorussian SSR in modernizing its economy, based on an analysis of publications in the Chelyabinsk Pipe Roller mass-circulation newspaper. Painstaking work was carried out to identify publications on this topic, which provided interesting and lively, truthful material conveying the spirit of that time. The study covers the period of the 1960s–1980s. The authors of the article came to the conclusion that the cooperation of the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant and industrial enterprises of the Byelorussian SSR did not stop throughout the chronological period. Mutually beneficial assistance from Chelyabinsk pipe distributors was provided in such a significant industry as mechanical engineering. It was the Ural pipes that were used in the assembly of radiators of Belarus tractors. Of particular importance was the Druzhba oil pipeline under construction, the pipes for which were produced by ChTZ. In addition, cooperation continued after the completion of the pipeline, which indicates that economic ties between the Urals and Soviet Belarus were only growing stronger. The article is part of a larger project to study the economic cooperation of the Urals and Belarus in the second half of the twentieth century.
